It’s simple. Woody likes being outdoors. He likes working with his hands – digging in the earth. And over the last 20 years, Woody has successfully taken a small grass-cutting request and turned it into a thriving lawn and landscaping business.

Beaver Pond Lawn and Landscape’s portfolio now includes 180 lawns, and in the last six years, its water garden and pond specialty business has blossomed as well. Woody enjoys the creative and artistic opportunities that come with designing and building outdoor water gardens of all shapes and sizes. His dedication goes beyond the finished product to include ongoing upkeep, maintenance and service as needed.

Woody finds great satisfaction in a job well done and a very satisfied customer.

Pond building involves creating a water feature by excavating a designated area, lining it with a suitable material to retain water, and then filling it with water. This process may include adding filtration systems, aquatic plants, and decorative elements to create a visually appealing and ecologically balanced environment. Pond building can range from small backyard ponds to larger, more elaborate installations in parks or gardens.

Ponds and Watergardens

These captivating features add a touch of tranquility and natural beauty to any outdoor space. Whether nestled in a backyard garden or gracing a public park, waterfall ponds create soothing atmospheres and provide habitats for diverse aquatic life.

Pondless Waterfalls

A pondless waterfall is a type of water feature designed to mimic the look and sound of a traditional waterfall without the need for a pond. Instead of flowing into a pool of water, the water from the waterfall is collected in a reservoir hidden beneath a bed of rocks or gravel. From there, a pump recirculates the water back to the top of the waterfall, creating a continuous flow.

Pondless waterfalls are popular in landscapes where space is limited or where maintenance of a pond is not desired. They offer the aesthetic appeal and soothing sounds of a waterfall while requiring less space and maintenance compared to traditional pond-based water features. Additionally, pondless waterfalls are often considered for households with young children or pets.

Pond Critters

Dive into the pond posse – a lively bunch of water-loving critters eager to join your backyard! From darting fish to croaking frogs, every corner of the pond bursts with life. Look out for sunbathing turtles, zooming dragonflies, and synchronized water beetles. It's a bustling underwater city waiting to be explored during your pondside adventures. These creatures, including fish, frogs, turtles, and insects, enrich the pond's ecosystem, offering opportunities to observe and appreciate nature.

I was inspired by nature, wildlife, and simply being outdoors. I'm not an indoor office worker by any means. I love the peaceful sound of water flowing down a stream and also the subtle sound or even the roar of a waterfall. Being outdoors is where I want to be. I respect wildlife of all types whether it's on land in the sky or in or under the water. Life is precious. I received a postcard in the mail back in 2004. It said come learn how to build a pond, hands-on. For $99 it included a lunch and a free T-shirt. I signed up and went to Falls Church Virginia to take a look. I was inspired but not ready. I took a second look in 2006 and knew this was what I wanted to do. In 2006 a pond company was born. With the continuous training from Aquascape out of St. Charles, Illinois, I enjoy creating water features of all types. Every day is an adventure because when you love what you do it's not work. I LOVE MY JOB !!!

Woody with Beaver Pond

Back in 2004, I received a postcard in the mail for a $99 hands-on class to learn how to build a pond. It included a lunch and t-shirt, so I signed up and went to Falls Church, Virginia to take a look. I was inspired, but not ready. I took a second look and in 2006 and knew this was what I wanted to do. A pond company was born. I’m inspired by nature, wildlife, and simply being outdoors. Never have been an indoor office type, being outdoors is where I want to be. I love the subtle, peaceful sound of water flowing down a stream or the roar of a tall waterfall. I enjoy and respect wildlife of all types, whether it's on land, in the sky, or under the water. Life is precious. With continuous training from Aquascape out of St. Charles, Illinois, I enjoy creating water features of all kinds. Every day is an adventure because when ou love what you do, it’s not work. And I love my job.

Beaver Pond Lawn and Landscaping is a locally owned, full-service lawn and landscaping business.

In 2004, I chanced upon a postcard inviting me to a hands-on class on pond building for only $99. I couldn't resist the offer of a lunch and a commemorative t-shirt, so I attended the session in Falls Church, Virginia. Although I was captivated, I wasn't quite prepared to leap into this new endeavor. However, upon revisiting the idea in 2006, I found my calling. This marked the birth of my pond company.

My fascination with nature, wildlife, and the great outdoors has been a lifelong passion. The idea of being cooped up in an office never quite resonated with me; instead, I thrive in the open air. There’s something peaceful about the subtle sound of water cascading down a stream or the rush of a roaring waterfall. I hold a deep appreciation for all forms of wildlife, whether they roam the land, soar in the sky, or dwell beneath the water's surface. To me, every facet of life is precious.

Thanks to ongoing guidance from Aquascape in St. Charles, Illinois, I take pleasure in crafting an array of water features. For me, each day is an expedition; when your vocation feels more like a passion than mere labor, every moment unfolds as an opportunity. I wholeheartedly cherish what I do. My dedication extends beyond the creation of beautiful water features to include ongoing upkeep, maintenance, and dedicated service as needed.
